Radley Athletic Club at the Tilsley Park Community Day

24 August 2026

On Sunday 23 August 2026, our home track at Tilsley Park came alive for a brilliant Community Day, and we were delighted to be part of it!

With beautiful sunshine, great music, delicious food and an amazing atmosphere, it was the perfect setting to showcase our club and introduce athletics to the local community.

Throughout the day, we had the opportunity to meet and chat with lots of potential new athletes and parents and also, ran fun sessions, such as, ‘How Far Can You Run in Divine’s Record 100m Time of 10.29‘, foam javeline throwing, jumping and long jump taster sessions.

Our incredible athlete, Divine, brought his silver World Medals from the 4x100m relays in Oregon and gold European Championship Medal in 100m in Rieti from this summer for us to see and inspire other young athletes.

Thank you to everyone who stopped to talk to us and participated in our fun activities and to all our athletes, coaches and volunteers who helped on the day!

We will see you on the track!

Passing of Radley Founding Member, Jill Slatter

June 2026

We are saddened to share the news that one of our founding members, Jill Slatter (pictured on the left with a UKA lanyard) passed away on 19 June 2026 at the age of 90.

Jill was a founder member of Radley Ladies, established with her friends back in 1972. From those early days, she gave an extraordinary amount of time, energy and heart to the sport she loved. Her service to athletics continued for more than five decades, right up until very recently, when her health meant she was no longer able to officiate, coach or contribute to the committee in the way she always had.

She was a President of the Oxfordshire Athletics Association at the time of her passing and in 2020, received a British Empire Medal for her services to athletics and the community in Oxfordshire.

Jill will be greatly missed, but her contribution to athletics, to Radley AC, and to all who knew her will live on for many years to come.

Open Graded Meeting – Tilsley Park

11 April 2026

Earlier this month, Radley AC held its annual  Open Competition at Tilsley Park on Saturday 11 April 2026. This Open Graded Meeting was run in memory of Charles and Eileen Kear, two of our founder members.

We were delighted to welcome 387 athletes participating in over 600 events on what turned out to be a rather cold and windy spring day, which was nevertheless enjoyed by all. 74 of the athletes were quad kids, taking part in the four usual events for this age group.

With over 600 event participations, 48 volunteer officials were needed – a huge thank you to them all for giving up their time on a Saturday to make sure the day ran smoothly and on time.
